Boku wa Isekai de Fuyo Mahou to Shoukan Mahou wo Tenbin ni Kakeru 122 part 2

We sent the familiars back with Deportation.

And the pain that had been forgotten during the battle returned like a wave.

Lucia and I groaned…looked at each other, and chuckled.

“It really does hurt. It’s no wonder that Yukino cried out.”

“We’re a lot tougher, and yet it hurts this much.”

Lucia was currently Level 18, and I was Level 30.

Yukino-san was around Level 10, and so I didn’t want to imagine how much pain she had felt.

If she lost heart, then it could not be helped.

Though, I didn’t fully understand the concept of hit points.

If pain was inversely proportional to the level, which would mean Yukino-san was experiencing three times more pain than me... Well, maybe not to that extent.

Alice rushed towards us and cast Heal.

And the pain faded away.

While it happened all of the time…it was because of this, that we were able to expose ourselves to enemy attacks like that.

“Both of you seem fine…”

Keiko-san said light-heartedly.

Well…we had been through a lot.

“While it hurts a little, I just think about how hot it’s not as bad as when Mia’s arm was torn.”

“That’s true. Having it torn is very painful!”

So that happened to you?

When it came to her, one could never be sure.

“Ah, Kazu-san, please look. Tamaki-chan and the others have returned.”

Alice pointed to the east sky.

When I looked, I saw that Tamaki and Mia were flying with the senior boys.

They were headed directly to the main school building.

And so we decided to head there as well, after we were healed.

Thankfully, the flying fortress had not sent reinforcements.

Though, there were signs that they were dropping ogre units here and there…

Perhaps they had not yet realized that the fighting force they sent towards us had been annihilated.

That meant that when they did notice, we would have some time before a second wave appeared.

Well, they were likely making plans of their own in the meantime.

What was scary was the fortress cannons. But according to Lucia, they had never been used in quick succession in a short amount of time.

Though, it would be dangerous to assume that it could not be done…

Just in case, Keiko-san was keeping an eye on it. So she would warn us if there was any change.

And so we united with Tamaki and the others in front of the school.

Tamaki wasted no time in rushing towards us, her twin tails bobbing in the wind.

“Hey, hey, Kazu-san! We learned a lot…”

“That can come later, Tamaki. For now, we have to retreat.”
“Ah, yeah…”

I patted her head as she looked disappointed. And like that, she and Mia returned to the party.

The closest classroom to the entrance, where there was a pale ring of light that was 3 meters in diameter, Yuki senpai was waiting.

The other members must have all moved to the other side.

Rin-san’s falcon familiar was standing in the center of the teleportation gate.

It proudly looked as Tamaki and Mia entered, and the senior students followed. Then the falcon looked up at us and nodded.

“A-are we supposed to go in there?”

One of the male students asked Yuki senpai with a confused expression.

“I don’t understand what is happening…”

“We must hurry. Explanations can come later. …If you are scared, I will go first.”

After seeing the male student hesitate, Yuki senpai stepped foot into the teleportation fate.

The moment that his foot touched it, he disappeared.

The senior students raised their voices in alarm.

“Go-good.”

While hesitating, one of the male students took a step into the teleportation gate…

And also vanished.

The other five nodded as if making their decision.

One after another, they entered the gate and disappeared.

“B-by the way, that falcon…is it using magic?”

“Yes. It is a familiar that acts as a checkpoint for the user on the other side.”

‘I see.’ Muttered the tall third-grader…

For some reason, at that very moment.

Something cold ran down my back.

But there was no time to stop and think about why.

The young man raised a sword into the air.

He was targeting the falcon familiar.

Everyone froze for a second.

Among them, Keiko-san was the one to move quickly.

She charged towards the student with the sword.

But the two remaining students stood in her way.

Both of them were wielding spears, which they thrust towards her.

Hey, wait a minute.

What is happening?
What the hell are they doing?

“Reflection.”

Keiko-san blocked one of the spears with a semi-transparent shield.

She then dodged the other thrust at a hair’s breadth, and her silver blade flashed.

The male student’s arms went flying along with the spear.

Blue blood sprayed out like a shower.

Huh? Blue…blood?

Wait, in other words, they are…

“Monsters! Doppelgangers!”

Mia shouted.

All of the confusion was gone, and things clicked in my mind.

The mysterious existence known as the peace faction.

Monsters that have strangely permeated.

And...today, the circumstances surrounding the spreading rumor of Shiba being alive.

I understood.

The Shiba that those students saw was a doppelganger.

They were watching closely, waiting for an opportunity.

And now was the time.

I finally understood how it had all worked.

But it was already too…

Late.

The student who had first raised his sword, no, the doppelganger who was disguised as a student, was slashed down towards the falcon.

A familiar that was opening a teleportation gate could not move.

And we were several steps away from it.

Even if I rushed out now, I would not make it in time.

The only one who could manage to jump through the gate was Keiko-san.

Keiko-san turned around, and our eyes met.

I nodded.

Please go, Keiko-san

I prayed.

Three of the students that came with Tamaki and Mia had already gone through.

They were surely doppelgangers as well.

Someone had to tell the others.

And so…Keiko-san, you go… That is what I hoped while nodding.

If it was Yuki, there would have likely been some hesitation.

And that hesitation would have been fatal.

But Keiko-san was different.

She knew her priorities.

Ando she looked forward.

She had made her decision.

Instead of staying with us, there was something she had to do on the other side.

That was a Greater Ninja.

I laughed.

Just as Keiko-san stepped through the pale circle, the falcon was cut into two.

And then Keiko-san vanished.

Immediately after, so did the teleportation gate.

“Tamaki, Alice. Capture one of them…”

I ordered, and the girls moved.

However, by then, the doppelgangers had already…

They laughed at us maliciously.

One moved in front of Alice’s spear.

One charged towards Tamaki’s sword.

Both chose their own death.

Two blue gems each, making a total of six, rolled onto the ground.
